Better than the Best of Times

David writes,

There are many who say, “Who will show us some good?
Lift up the light of your face upon us, O LORD!”
You have put more joy in my heart
than they have when their grain and wine abound.
(Psalm 4:6-7 ESV)

Knowing the Lord in time of adversity is far better than the very best of times without Him.

The joy of the Lord is far greater than any earthly happiness.

No wonder the apostle Paul tells us, “Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice”
(Philippians 4:4 ESV).

May the Lord open our eyes to see the countless blessings that we have in Christ, that our hearts would learn to rejoice in Him always!
